White Russian Cocktail

If you are planning a nice weekend dinner with friends or family and are searching for a good cocktail to delight your guests with, you can opt for the White Russian recipe. Your guests will really savor its unique taste and relish it to the last sip. I especially love serving this after dinner, since it’s creamy sweet richness tastes like a dessert.
The White Russian is a sweet drink that is made with vodka, coffee liqueurs and cream. It is served with ice in old fashioned glasses. People generally drink this cocktail through a cocktail straw.
It is the white version of another traditional cocktail, the Black Russian. The Black Russian is prepared the same way except without the cream.
Neither of these drinks has their origins in Russia, yet they both contain the ever popular Russian alcohol, vodka. No one is certain which of the two drinks came first.
The White Russian recipe is an ideal after supper drink that is simple and quick to serve. The recipe for the White Russian is simple and thus quick to prepare.
This cocktail drink is creamy and sweet with a nice coffee flavor. You can also add a related list of ingredients to the recipe for White Russian. For example, if you shake the White Russian after you prepare it you get the “Dirty Bird”. If you add amaretto to the drink you get “Roasted Toasted Almond” and as mentioned earlier if you skip the milk or the cream you get the Black.
Mix the vodka and the coffee liqueur in an old-fashioned glass.
Once both the ingredients are blended well float the cream or milk on the top.
The ice cubes are optional and if you want you can use them.
White Russian is best served chilled. You can add variation to the White Russian recipe and try using vanilla vodka instead of plain vodka when making the drink. When you are pouring the drink put some ice cubes in an old-fashioned glass.
This drink became popular after the film ”The Big Lebowski” became a big hit. “The Dude” drank the cocktail in many prominent scenes of the film and even to date this drink is drunk widely in celebration of the Lebowski Fest that is celebrated every year with enthusiasm and joy.
