Pea Soup Recipe

 1/2 pound pork (beef)
 1/2 gallon water
 1 cup dry peas
 2 potatoes, diced
 1 carrot, grated
 1 onion, diced
 1 red sweet pepper, diced
 1 teaspoon tomato paste
 ½ teaspoon dry basil
 ½ teaspoon dry dill
 1 bay leaf
 salt to your taste

1

Cut the pork into several big pieces, put in the pan and pour with water. Let it boil for 1 hour. If you don’t like rich broth you can drain the water after it boils for half an hour and pour the meat with new water and leave it to boil again for the rest 30 min.

2

Meanwhile prepare all other ingredients: wash the peas, dice the onion, the potatoes, the pepper and grate the carrot. As soon as the hour goes by, put the peas into the meat broth and cook for 30 min. Then add potatoes and carrot, 10 min later add pepper, onion and tomato paste and cook it all together for 20 min more. Season with dill and basil put salt and bay leaf, boil for 5 minutes.

3

Now turn off the heat and leave the soup covered for some time while you lay the table. Serve with a light salad or appetizers.
