1/4 cup Whey Low
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
1 tablespoon Maple Leaf butter powder
2 tablespoons cocoa
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons powdered Whey Low
Add the Whey Low and water to a microwave-safe mixing bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stir, then microwave again for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave again for another 30 seconds. (You're basically making a "corn syrup substitute" at this point.) Be very careful. This mixture will be hot.
Next stir in the nonfat dry milk, butter powder, cocoa, and vanilla. Blend. Work in 1 tablespoon of the powdered Whey Low. Sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of Whey Low onto a "kneading surface" and turn the tootsie roll mixture out onto it. Knead the mixture until it's no longer sticky to the touch. Divide mixture into 12 "rolls."
Be sure to wrap the candy in plastic wrap or waxed paper as soon as possible. Otherwise, the candy will quickly dry out.
