One of my favorite pizza dough recipes. Whole Wheat Pizza Dough is simply great for any kind of pizza.
Dissolve sugar in warm water using a bowl. Sprinkle yeast over and let it stand until foamy (10 minutes).
Stir salt and olive oil into yeast mixture. Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour, until dough starts to come together. Flour a flat surface with the remaining all-purpose flour and tip the dough on. Knead until all of the flour is absorbed and the dough becomes smooth (10 minutes).
In an oiled bowl, place the dough in and turn to coat the surface. Cover with a tower and let the dough stand in a warm place until it reaches double size (1 hour).
Once the dough reaches it's desired size, tip it on a slightly floured surface and divide into 2 pieces for 2 thin crust (you can leave it whole to make one thick crust). Form into a ball and let it rise until it reaches double size again (45 minutes).
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Roll a ball of dough with a rolling pin until it won't stretch any further. Drape it over both of your fists and pull the edges outward. Once the dough reaches desired circle size, place on a oiled pizza pan. Top the crust with desired topping.
Bake until the crust is golden and crisp at the edges (16-20 minutes).
