Almond Macaroons Recipe

Ingredients

 1 pk. Almond paste
 1/4 c. All-purpose flour
 1 1/4 c. Powdered sugar
 1/4 tsp. Almond extract
 2 Egg whites
 3 Dozen whole almonds, blanched

Directions

In a bowl break almond paste into small pieces. Stir in powdered sugar, almond extract and flour and add egg whites.

With an electric mixer beat the mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes until its smooth.

Prepare decorating bag fitted with #9 rosette tip and place in dough. Pipe cookies 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet. Top each cookie with almond and refrigerate for about 1/2 hour.

Heat oven to 325 degrees F and bake for 12 minutes.

Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack and let it cool. Store in airtight container.
