Almond Rice Recipe

Ingredients

 1 Cup of Basmati Rice.
 Quarter teaspoon Turmeric.
 Handful of raisins.
 5 bay leaves.
 2 green cardamom pods.
 Quarter of an onion finely chopped.
 Vegetable Oil.
 Quarter cup grated almonds.
 Tablespoon flaked almonds.
 Water.

Directions

In a large pan of water, add salt to taste.

Bring to the boil.

Add basmati rice, turmeric, bay leaves and cardamoms to the water.

Simmer for 8 minutes.

Drain and leave to cool for 30 minutes.

Heat the oil in a frying pan or wok and fry the onion until translucent.

Stir in the rice slowly, along with the raisins and almonds

Stir fry until piping hot.

Serve with the flaked almonds as a garnish.
