Apple Pear Pie Recipe

Ingredients

 4 Apples, peeled, cored and sliced
 4 Pears, peeled, cored and sliced
 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
 1 pinch of Salt
 1 Double Pie Crust
 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
 1 tablespoon Light Cream
 1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Combine the sliced apples, sliced pears, brown sugar, ¼ cup sugar, all-purpose flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl.

Roll out first pie crust to a 12-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.

Place the dough in 9-inch deep-dish glass pie plate. Carefully spoon the apple pie mixture into the pie crust. Top pie filling with butter.

Roll out second pie crust to 12-inch circle.

Place top crust over pie filling. Trim away excess dough and crimp edges to seal crusts together.

Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Brush the top crust with light cream and sprinkle with 1-teaspoon sugar.

Bake 45-55 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

Allow to cool 1 hour before serving.
