Preheat oven to 350* and grease a 9×13 pan with butter. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy (about 3-5 minutes.)
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Beat in vanilla, then add salt. On low speed, add flour gradually. With a wooden spoon, stir in 1 cup of the chocolate chips.
Spread the batter evenly in the pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of chocolate chips on top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown. Do not overbake. Let cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into bars with a sharp knife and enjoy!
