Cheese Topped Stuffed Peppers Recipe

Ingredients

 6 green peppers-tops removed and seeded
 
 1 lb lean ground beef
 
 1 small onion chopped
 
 1 cup cooked rice
 
 1 tsp salt
 
 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce divided
 
 6 oz shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

In a large kettle of boiling warder parboil peppers for 5 minutes and drain.

In a medium skillet cook beef and onions until browned. Drain off excess fat; add rice, salt and one cup of tomato sauce, heat thoroughly.

Heat oven to 350 f.

Stuff each pepper with beef mixture and place in ungreased baking dish.

Pour remaining sauce over peppers.

Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

Remove foil and bake for 15 minutes.

Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Serve.
