Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. sliced carrots
1 c. diced celery
3 c. beef or chicken broth
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, cut up & undrained
1/2 c. homemade seasoned rice mix
1/4 c. ketchup
1 to 2 tsp. dried basil leaves
1 bay leaf

In a 4- quart saucepan, brown ground beef (turkey) with onions, carrots and celery. Drain well.

Add remaining ingredients; stir to combine.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover, simmer 25 to 35 minutes or until vegetables and rice are tender.

Salt and pepper to taste. Remove bay leaf.
