Gochujang Marinade

This easy 5-minute gochujang marinade packs a flavor punch! The Korean red chili paste provides sweet heat, while garlic, ginger, sesame and soy sauce add lots of umami depth. Marinate proteins or veggies for 1-8 hours before grilling, broiling or sautéing. It's great on everything from chicken wings to steak.
Yield: About 1 cup.
Marinate Time: 1-8 hours

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine all ingredients and whisk until well blended.
  • Place desired protein or vegetables in a resealable plastic bag or container. Pour in marinade and seal bag/container. Massage marinade into ingredients until evenly coated.
  • Refrigerate for 1-8 hours, occasionally flipping bag/container.
  • Remove protein/veggies from marinade and cook as desired. Discard used marinade.
  • Enjoy! This marinade is delicious on grilled meats, chicken, seafood, tofu or vegetables.
