Vinegar Powder Recipe

There are a few methods of crafting DIY vinegar powder at home:

  • Vinegar

Instructions
 

Dehydrator Method

  • Mix vinegar and maltodextrin at a 1:1 ratio
  • Spread mixture thinly onto dehydrator trays
  • Dehydrate at 95-115°F until completely dried out
  • Process in a blender or food processor into fine powder

Oven Method

  • Soak breadcrumbs, cornstarch or flour in vinegar
  • Spread thinly onto a baking sheet
  • Bake at 200°F, stirring periodically, until crispy and dry
  • Grind into powder

Stovetop Reduction Method

  • Simmer vinegar and baking soda to reduce volume
  • Continue reducing over low heat, adding more vinegar until thickened
  • Spread paste onto a baking sheet
  • Finish drying out in a 200°F oven
  • Grind into powder
