Porcini Powder

Porcini powder is made from ground dried porcini mushrooms, which have a rich, earthy, nutty flavor. The fine brown powder concentrates the umami taste of porcinis. It's used to enhance the flavor of risotto, pasta, soups, sauces, vegetables, and meats. The powder can also be reconstituted with hot water to make porcini stock. Porcini powder adds depth of flavor without the texture of whole mushrooms.
